The beloved apple fruit is widely known for its beneficial properties and especially loved for its taste and aroma. Having a low caloric value, an apple a day is also suitable for those on a diet. Moreover, it is considered an excellent source of fiber, especially when eaten with the skin. In addition to vitamins C and A, it also contains folic acid, biotin, malic acid. There are approximately 2,000 varieties of apples worldwide, while in Greece predominate the Red Delicious, Banana apple, Fugi, Pink Lady and Granny Smith.
